Description
For the relatives of the 43 missing Mexican students, "the wound is still open" on the 10th anniversary of their disappearance. "I feel like it was yesterday that my son disappeared, because we feel his absence at home," says the mother of Christian Rodriguez, one of the students who disappeared on September 26, 2014, in the violence-torn state of Guerrero. "Now we can truly say that the government has done nothing for us," she adds, days before Claudia Sheinbaum is sworn in as Mexico's first female president on October 1.
Rodriguez's mother and thousands of others are taking to the streets of Mexico City a decade after what is considered one of the worst human rights atrocities in the violence-plagued country. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES [TO COMPLETE 36H93QC_EN + 36HA768_EN + 36GQ9HJ_EN]
