"After this phase that we are experiencing now with the forest fires, we have to recover the area," says Aldo Fierro, head of the forest department of the municipality of Concepcion, where workers are growing seedlings to "reforest" the region of eastern Bolivia devastated by the fires.
The forest fire season has not yet ended, but 3.8 million hectares of Bolivian territory have already been consumed, mostly in Santa Cruz, according to the government's Fire Monitoring Center. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
