Pope Francis pays tribute to Belgium's former King Baudouin, calling the monarch "courageous" for refusing to sign "a murderous law" in favour of abortion in the 1990s. Speaking on the papal plane after a visit to Belgium, Francis rebukes a statement issued by the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve expressing its "disapproval" of his view of women as daughters, sisters and mothers, which he voiced during a meeting at the institution.
