"We're here to oppose Emmanuel Macron's power grab against democracy," says Emma Chevalier, national secretary of the Young Ecologists. A few hours before French prime minister Michel Barnier's general policy speech, nearly 2,200 people (according to the prefecture) demonstrate in the streets of Bordeaux against the new government. "It's a government which is identical to the one we had in the past, or even worse," adds another demonstrator.
