Thousands of Orthodox Jewish pilgrims fill the streets of the Ukrainian town of Uman, the birthplace of the Orthodox Hasidic movement, to celebrate the Jewish New Year, despite Russia's ongoing invasion. According to Ukraine's main Jewish organisation, the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, "as of October 2 in the morning, more than 30,000 pilgrims arrived in Uman", with a further "14,000" unable to travel due to the closure of airspace and cancelled flights after "Irans' massive shelling" of Israel.
