Description
The Democratic Republic of Congo, the epicentre of an mpox outbreak, will launch a vaccination campaign against the virus on October 5 and will start with "the areas most affected" due to the current limited stocks of vaccines, Health Minister, Samuel-Roger Kamba says. "The needs are much greater, and you can imagine that in a country of 100 million inhabitants, 265,000 doses won't solve the problem, but it's enough to start protecting the population in the worst-affected areas," Kamba says at a press conference in the capital Kinshasa. More than 800 people across Africa have died from mpox, the African Union's disease control centre said Thursday. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
