An explosion in Puerto Bolívar, a coastal neighborhood in Machala, Ecuador, on Saturday afternoon resulted in at least two fatalities, seven injuries, and the destruction of six houses. The blast, which occurred around 3 PM in the Blanca Garcia neighborhood, reportedly targeted the residence of alias Sayayin, a leader of the criminal group “Los Choneros.” The explosion levelled three houses and left the street looking like a war zone, according to police reports. The shockwave damaged homes across several blocks, shattering windows and causing panic among residents.
