Description
A new canine unit is launched at Ethiopia's Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, with a demonstration showcasing the detection dogs' capabilities. "We chose Bole International Airport not primarily because Ethiopia is suffering trafficking of its own wildlife, but Bole is an international hub for travel," says Philip Muruthi of the African Wildlife Foundation. Ethiopia's Minister of Tourism, Nasise Challi, adds that it is "a very big accomplishment" as it would "indirectly contribute to the protection of wildlife in other parts of Africa as well."
