Houses and a school in El Plateado are left with broken windows and debris after the Colombian military launched a raid against the EMC, a dissident faction of the disbanded FARC guerrilla rebel group, in the southwestern department of Cauca. At least 20 people were injured in the clashes. After the raid, the EMC rebel group urged delegations not to attend the COP16 meeting, which will take place in Cali from October 21 to November 1.
