Description
Thousands of fans of Liam Payne gather in London's Hyde Park to pay their respects to the One Direction band member who died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Fans of the boyband member lay flowers, handwritten notes and balloons at the foot of a statue of Peter Pan -”the boy who never grew up”. Speaking to AFP, an organiser of the memorial Alicia Sinclair says “not a lot of people understand how we’re feeling at the moment so we felt it was really important to come together as a group around people who will understand”. Holding back tears, 22-year-old fan Luna Franco says “he was struggling a lot with his mental health and so I think he'll be happy to know that there are so many people that love him and that are here to support him and to tell him goodbye”.
