Up to 1,000 women and children in need of medical care will soon be evacuated from Gaza to Europe, confirms the head of the World Health Organization's (WHO) Europe branch. The evacuations would be carried out by the WHO together with the EU and the countries concerned. The WHO Europe has already facilitated around 600 medical evacuations to seven countries in the region since October 2023. Kluge emphasises the importance of maintaining an open dialogue, saying "health is the sector where you can get no fighting factions around the table, because everyone needs health".
