Some Lima residents pay their last respects at the Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo to Gustavo Gutierrez, the intellectual and priest considered the father of liberation theology, who died on 22 October.
The 96-year-old's ideology, a current of Christian thought centred on the dignity of the poor, was one of the first priests to denounce the injustices and inequalities that were devouring Latin America. IMAGES
