Description
The Grigoryeva sisters Anastasia and Elizaveta escaped Russia after authorities prosecuted them for protesting against Moscow's offensive in Ukraine, while their father, a paratrooper, fought with the Russian army. During an interview with AFP in 2022, Anastasia, who since prefers to go by the name of "Stas," shared that she felt an "enormous guilt" for Moscow's offensive. This cost her being summoned to an interrogation and fined for "discrediting" the Russian army. After an intermediary stay in Georgia, the twins made their way to Germany, where they "finally have some stability" and "feel safe," says Elizaveta. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
