Workers at the Beirut port unload 125 containers of aid from a cargo ship sent by Turkey to war-torn Lebanon where fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has dramatically escalated since September 23, killing at least 1,829 people in Lebanon, according an AFP taly of health ministry figures. "This is a day where we as the Turkish people are showing our solidarity with the Lebanese people, not only through our governmental agencies but also the Turkish civil society," says Ali Baris, Turkey's ambassador to Lebanon.
