Prince William, South Africa's Deputy President and several other big names join the finalists for this year's Earthshot Prize on the green carpet ahead of the annual global environmental award ceremony in the South African city of Cape Town. The prize which the prince founded several years ago seeks to reward people who provide solutions to environmental problems such as climate change, air pollution and biodiversity loss. Each winner receives one million pounds ($1.3 million). "We are not just doing it for the prize but we are also doing it for the betterment of the community so that we can reduce food loss in Africa," says Francis Nderitu 2024 Earthshot prize finalist and Founder and Managing Director of Keep IT Cool.
