"We have to stop letting our industry die": Sophie Binet, general secretary of the influential CGT trade union, speaks to striking employees of the chemical company Vencorex, in Pont-de-Claix (Isère), which has been placed in receivership, and calls for government intervention and the plant's "temporary nationalisation".
The CGT said it is the latest illustration of the "violent bleeding of industry" across France, as Vencorex joins a growing list of factories facing redundancy plans following recent announcements at Michelin and Auchan.
