On a visit to the Mount of Olives in east Jerusalem, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot says France is "working on the adoption of a third set of sanctions targeting acts of colonisation", reiterating his country's commitment to a two-state solution, to which Israeli settlements are one of the main impediments. "France has always considered that colonisation undermines the prospect of a two-state political solution, with the State of Israel and the State of Palestine living side by side in peace and security," he adds.
