Description
People check books as they visit the 27th international book fair in Algiers, where a novel written by French-Algerian writer Kamel Daoud was banned, leading to mixed reactions where some said "there are laws governing book publishing", while others stressed that people should be able to "make up their own mind." Daoud won France's top literary prize, the Goncourt, for "Houris" which centres on Algeria's civil war between the government and Islamists in the 1990s. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
