Description
"I had more impact in two years in prison than in 30 years of journalism. Why? Because we stripped away the mask of democracy, and the international community saw them laid bare," says Guatemalan journalist Jose Ruben Zamora.
Zamora was released from prison on October 19 after a judge granted the request for him to be placed under house arrest. A stark critic of the government of former right-wing president Alejandro Giammattei, Zamora had been detained on money laundering charges for more than 800 days. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
