Prosecutors have request a five-years sentence including two years’ imprisonment and five years' ineligibility against France's far-right National Rally party leader Marine Le Pen. The sentence sought is flexible, meaning Le Pen would avoid prison although it could rule her out of standing in the 2027 presidential election. "There is consistency in the Paris prosecutor's position.
