Climate Action Network, an activist group, hold a ceremony to award the first "Fossil of the Day" prize of COP29 to the G7 countries. At every edition of the UN climate conference, the group hands out the satirical awards to the countries they deem "the best at being the worst" when it comes to taking action on climate change. In a statement, Climate Action Network said the G7 nations have spent "the past 20 years dodging, skirting, and running away from their fiscal responsibility to pay up for their growing climate finance debt."
