Description
The Aragua community in Barcelona, eastern Venezuela, attends the wake and burial of Jesus Martinez, an opposition activist and musician imprisoned after the post-election protests, which led to at least 2,000 arrests by police.
Community members bid him farewell to the sound of the "cuatro" (a traditional Venezuelan stringed instrument) and maracas, honoring the 36-year-old musician who died of medical complications linked to heart problems and Type II diabetes. IMAGES
