Description
Food scarcity and habitat decline has seen a drastic fall in numbers of the African Penguin, putting it on critically endangered list. "We have lost 97 percent of the population" says marine biologist, Allison Kock. Efforts are underway in Cape Town to help stem the loss by protecting and monitoring the colony in their natural habitat to help "safeguard the species and prevent it from becoming extinct," says Kock.
