Description
Senegal's ruling Pastef party is heading for a large majority in parliament following the weekend's legislative elections, according to media projections. This will empower the party of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko to deliver on the promise of ambitious reform that swept it to power eight months ago in the presidential election. "They have everything they need. Now they have no argument to say this or that. Now we can say, Senegal is in their hands," says John Mendy, a restaurant owner in the capital Dakar. "It's time for them to get to work," says Pape Diagne, a businessman. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
