Description
A decade after Islamic State group extremists rampaged through northern Iraq, Moaz Fadhil and his eight children finally returned to their village after languishing for years in a displacement camp. Although many of the village's homes remain in ruins and essential services are still lacking, Fadhil says he felt "indescribable joy" upon moving back in August. "We lived amid the rubble, but it was an indescribable joy to return home after ten years. I was born here and so did my father and my mother. We have beautiful memories here," says the father of eight. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
