Singing in chorus around a bonfire in the Jerusalem Hills, Zaka volunteers take part in two-day therapy retreats to forget the horrors of the October 7 attacks. The Zaka organisation is a unique Israeli rescue and recovery group whose job is to collect the remains of the dead, including blood, for burial in accordance with Jewish religious law. "I can't explain what happened here, but when I come, I leave as a different person," he said. "I'm happy I came -- it healed my soul," says Dubi Weissenstern, the group's chief executive.
