Description
As fuel prices surge, some Nigerian drivers, like Adebola Omotosho, are opting for an alternative source -- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Switching to CNG has saved him a lot of money, he says, even with the inconvenience of having to travel far sometimes to fill up. But only a fraction of Nigeria drivers use CNG, in part because of the cost of conversion. “Even if the daily cost of having a CNG-powered vehicle is cheaper, getting over that initial hurdle, not everyone can do that,” says Chidalu Onyenso, CEO at Earthbond, a company that helps businesses transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy.
