Description
As Namibia prepares to go to the polls for its presidential and parliamentary election scheduled for November 27, its national Electoral Commission says it is “confident” that this year’s vote will be peaceful. “Namibia has a proud history of peaceful elections, and I am confident that 2024 will be no different to what we have done in the past,” saysPetrus Shaama, Chief Electoral Officer at the Electoral Comission of Namibia. Amongst voters, some are calling for leaders to enact changes that tangibly improve lives. “We want improvement, we want people that are serious, that are committed to the cause of all Namibians,” says Bonny Tjirongo, a resident of Windhoek, the capital.
