Description
Members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet were "responsible for the collapse of the government system on October 7," says Varda Alsheikh, Chair of an Independent Civilian Commission of Inquiry looking into the government's response to the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel. Following dozens of hearings and the testimony of around 120 witnesses over the past four months, the commission determined that "the government of Israel and the security establishment failed in the primary mission for which they exist: ensuring the security of the citizens of Israel," says commission member and reservist major general Eyal Ben-Reuven.
