"Since 4 am we came to check our houses" says a resident of the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh, Hezbollah's stronghold in the Lebanese capital, as supporters of the Lebanese armed group return home and celebrate the ceasefire coming into force. A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon took hold on Wednesday after more than a year of fighting that has killed thousands, with displaced people returning home in the south, against warnings from both sides.
