"It has a certain sweet taste, almost like a farewell prize," says Jose "Pepe" Mujica, the 89-year-old former president with a lifetime of battles behind him and a recent victory: the triumph of his protege, Yamandu Orsi, in Uruguay's presidential election, which brings the left back to power in the country of 3.4 million people.
