Description
As Mexico's Culiacan reels from months of gang violence that has left hundreds dead and many more missing, residents of the northern city struggle to go about their daily lives, with some forced to flee their homes and businesses forced to close.
The state of Sinaloa, of which Culiacan is capital, has seen a surge in violence since the July arrest of the cartel's co-founder Ismael Zambada in the United States. Zambada's arrest triggered a war between his relatives and the sons of drug trafficker Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, who co-founded the cartel. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
