Description
A candidate plays snooker while another one sings answers for a comedy show minutes before stepping onto a stage in Iceland’s last debate before Saturday general election. Icelanders are voting after the collapse of a fraught coalition that prompted a snap poll where the economy is a top concern. Battling inflation and high interest rates, the economy, housing and healthcare have dominated the campaign for the 268,000 people eligible to vote. At the Liberal Reform Party, volunteers scramble to call voters as the party expects to double its score compared to last election. The party's campaign manager Svanborg Sigmarsdottir thinks the favorable polls are the positioning of the party on "how to solve the inflation and interest rate and cost of living crisis".
