Description
Created by a Tel Aviv pastry chef, a doughnut topped with a yellow ribbon, a symbol of solidarity with the 7 October hostages, is at the heart of a growing controversy in the run-up to the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. Hanukkah doughnuts come in a wide variety of shapes and forms, and the yellow ribbon, which hangs on clothes or is worn as a necklace, is found everywhere in Israel, but its presence on a sweet, a symbol of gustatory happiness, is not to everyone's taste.
