Beijing has criticised Paraguay for cancelling the visa of Chinese diplomat Xu Wei, accusing it of violating "international practices". Xu was given 24 hours to leave Paraguay after authorities there accused him of "interference".
"The denunciations and demands made by relevant departments on the Paraguay side against relevant members of the Chinese delegation are completely unreasonable and baseless, and seriously violate international practices," foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian tells reporters at a regular press conference.
