Description
Kosovo's national library in the heart of the capital Pristina is difficult to miss, with its bubbled roofs and the latticed steel that covers its brutalist stone walls. For some, the unique landmark is an architectural wonder. For others, the building remains an ugly sight. Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjakovic, who oversaw the library's design before it opened in 1982, says he is happy "to see that 40 years after its construction, it is as beautifully preserved as if it opened yesterday".
