Description
Weary of the hectic pace of life in Ivory Coast’s vast economic hub of Abidjan, artists are decamping 30 kilomtres down the coast to Grand-Bassam. “Abidjan is the city, where people go to make money," says artist Ibrahim Ketoure, in comparison to the seaside town, which he says “has the artistic spirit” and the “calm” needed to allow painters, sculptors, and others in the field to work and thrive.
