Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te expresses confidence about the self-ruled island getting "more support" in the future. His comments came after landing back in Taiwan following a week-long trip to the Pacific that included a stopover in the American territory of Guam. "As long as we firmly defend democracy, deepen democracy, and interact with various countries in the world based on the universal value of democracy, we will definitely get more support," he says in Taoyuan, a city close to the capital Taipei.
