Description
The UK's development minister Anneliese Dodds pledges 39 million pounds sterling in aid for education in Malawi during a several-day visit to the former British colony in Southeastern Africa. The funding seeks to double the number of children with basic maths skills by age 10, according to a press release given to journalists at the primary school she visited in the Malawi capital Lilongwe. "It’s for the long term, trying to make sure the work that’s already going on in Malawi to make math education as effective as possible, is continued into the future and is really embedded," Dodds says.
