Description
Several hundred people march in Skopje, the North Macedonian capital, demanding that the government take action to tackle high levels of air pollution in the city. "It's time for the government to do something," says student Anastasija Pavlovska, one of those protesting in the wake of a report showing Skopje to be one Europe's 10 most polluted cities. According to research issued by the country's Institute for Public Health, almost 4,000 people die each year in North Macedonia due to exposure to PM2.5 particles, the smallest inhaleable and most dangerous particle to human health.
