"Donkey milk has the taste of love," says Fatiko Basha, a farmer who, along with others, is facing skyrocketing demand for donkey milk cheese, reputed to be one of the most expensive cheeses in the world. For thousands of years, the cheese has been praised for its numerous virtues. Fatiko's husband, Veiz, describes the product -- which is also used in cosmetics -- as "white gold", and the family has been buying additional milk from local farmers to keep up with demand.
