Indonesia repatriates 37 citizens from Syria following a lightning offensive spearheaded by the Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group and its allies, which toppled the brutal rule of former president Bashar al-Assad. Jakatrta has prepared the more batches of repatriation as it deems Syria is still unsafe and poses security threats to Indonesians. It is estimated that hundreds of Indonesians, mostly domestic workers and students, are still in Syria, but it's hard to get accurate data as many of them are undocumented workers who entered the Middle-eastern nation unprocedurally, said Judha Nugraha, director for citizen protection at Indonesian foreign ministry.
