Description
"They wanted their revenge," says US-Canadian anti-whaling activist Paul Watson, following Denmark's decision not to extradite him to Japan and to instead release him from detention in Greenland, where he was arrested in July on a Japanese warrant. Speaking during an interview with AFP, the 74-year-old Sea Shepherd founder asks "how can a nation like Japan commit blatant violations of international law without any legal consequences? And then they have the audacity to charge me for some minor thing". Japan had requested Watson's extradition over a 2010 clash with whalers. SOUNDBITES
