Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban says that the European Union wishes to "turn Hungary into Magdeburg", in reference to a car ramming attack in the German city of Magdeburg which killed five people and wounded more than 200 and his ire at Brussels. "They want to impose migration regulations on Hungary, the risk of which is eye-watering," says Orban at his annual end-of-the-year press conference in the capital Budapest. Elsewhere Orban says that the asylum Hungary has granted to a Polish ex-government official facing corruption charges -- which Warsaw considered a "hostile act" -- won't be "the last one".
