Description
People in Senegal's capital Dakar express anger at comments made by French President Emmanuel Macron, which included the view that African countries had "forgotten to say thank you" for France's decade-long military deployment to fight an Islamist insurgency in the Sahel. "France and the West in general need to learn to look at Africa differently," says Mandoumbe Mbaye, a teacher. Several people express support for their prime minister, Ousmane Sonko's response to Macron's comments where he accused France of having contributed to instability in "certain African countries" rather than ensuring peace.
