People in Mozambique's capital Maputo express hope, but also some trepidation ahead of opposition leader Venancio Mondlane's expected return on January 9 to the Southern African nation from exile following weeks of sometimes violent and deadly protests over the disputed results of last October's election. "With his arrival, is a hope that opens for us," says Fatima Pinto, a protester. "He is the Moses who comes to rescue the people from slavery," says Manuel Homo, a clothes vendor.
