Description
2024 was the hottest year on record, with the last two years both exceeding the critical warming limit of 1.5 degrees Celsius, warns the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). "We're getting closer and closer to the Paris Agreement goal," says Chris Hewitt, WMO director of climate, who adds "we need to drastically cut the emissions of greenhouse gases". "There are serious consequences," he says during an interview with AFP. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES, COMPLETE VIDI33Z98QH AND VIDI33Z97L7
