"The sound of the explosion shook the school, it woke us up and we covered ourselves with the bed for fear of shrapnel flying at us" says a woman who lost relatives in an Israeli strike at the Al-Farabi school in the centre of Gaza City, which is sheltering a number of displaced people. Gaza's civil defence agency said that Israeli strikes on Wednesday killed at least 24 people across the Palestinian territory, with Israel's military saying it had targeted Hamas militants overnight.
