Former president of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro calls himself a "political prisoner" while accompanying his wife Michelle Bolsonaro to the airport as she travels to the United States to represent him at the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. A Brazilian judge denied him permission to leave the country to attend the event. Bolsonaro had his passport seized in February 2024 as part of an investigation into his role in masterminding an alleged coup attempt to remain in power after losing elections in 2022.
