Thousands gather in northern Liberia for the funeral of warlord-turned-politician Prince Johnson, a notorious face of the country's brutal civil wars who died without facing trial. Johnson became infamous in 1990 after appearing in a video sipping beer as he calmly watched his fighters mutilate and torture president Samuel Doe to death. "Today we gather to bid farewell to a man whose life was marked by a profound influence on the history of Liberia, a fact which remains undeniable," said former Liberia President George Weah during the ceremony.
